Summary- We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Winemaker to join our team for the upcoming harvest season. This seasonal position is set to commence immediately and will extend at least through January 2026. Under the guidance of the Associate Winemaker, the primary responsibility of this role is to oversee all aspects of luxury winemaking—from fruit intake through fermentation—while upholding the highest quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Current duties may be changed if the job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.
• Promote a culture of safety and positivity amongst staff members
• Lead and manage a small cellar team
• Collaborate with winemakers to observe and assess vineyard conditions, ensuring optimal grape development.
• Assist in grape reception, pressing, and fermentation processes. Work alongside cellar staff to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
• Conduct and review laboratory tests to evaluate wine chemistry and support winemaking decisions.
• Participate in tasting sessions with the winemaking team to assess wine quality and development.
• Monitor fermentation activities, including checking tank temperatures and managing cap formation.
• Develop and manage production schedules and work orders for grape processing, winemaking, and laboratory operations.
• Assist winemakers with various projects and tasks as needed, contributing to the overall winemaking process
Minimum Qualifications-
• Degree in Enology and/or Viticulture or related field required.
• A minimum of 5 years in Ultra-Premium and Luxury Winemaking
• Ability to work various shifts including weekends and overtime
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work various shifts including weekends and overtime
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Previous harvest experience in winery production
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Well-developed wine tasting skills
