Frog's Leap Winery is on the lookout for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join us at our beautiful Rutherford winery. Reporting to the VP of Vineyard Operations and collaborating with an amazing team across our estate and vineyards, you'll play a key role in keeping everything running like a well-oiled machine—literally. From tractors and vineyard equipment to plumbing, electrical systems, and more, you’ll be the person we count on to keep it all in tip-top shape. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with a knack for mechanics, a talent for troubleshooting, and the flexibility to jump into action especially during our busiest season. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: Estate Facilities | Tractors & Tractor Equipment | Farming Vehicles, Equipment & Infrastructure
•  Schedule, perform & record routine maintenance, inspections and repairs across winery facilities including production areas, offices, hospitality areas and grounds.
•  Manage work orders & maintain documentation of completed maintenance tasks and inspections.
•  Maintain and repair cosmetic and structural elements including doors, windows, lighting, irrigation, and general building systems.
•  Coordinate with external contractors/vendors when specialized repairs or services are required.
•  Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as winery-specific equipment (e.g., crush equipment, pumps, tanks, HVAC systems)
•  Support seasonal production needs during harvest and bottling by assisting with equipment maintenance and facility readiness
•  Ensure compliance with safety protocols, winery procedures, and regulatory standards
•  Respond to maintenance-related emergencies and after-hours issues, as-needed
•  Schedule, perform, and maintain records of all regular and preventative maintenance on tractors/tractor implements, farming vehicles (e.g. trucks, ATVs, and UTVs) or equipment ( e.g. including small tools, hand sprayers, hand mowers, two-wheel tractors, and electrified hand tools) & farming infrastructure (includes water, power and machinery associated with irrigation, spray and frost-protection systems, including wiring, booster pumps, and propane-powered wind machines).
•  Ensure all equipment is in excellent working order and properly calibrated.
•  Service and repair harvest equipment, including picking lights and bin trailers.
•  Perform maintenance on other farming infrastructure (e.g. hedgerow irrigation, fences, roads and ponds)

Experience & Qualifications:
•  7+ years of hands-on mechanic experience with tractor & vehicle service and repair.
•  Ability to read and write in English.
•  Basic computer skills. Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook for tracking and general communication purposes.
•  Extensive experience with various mechanical systems, including: Pumps and winery equipment – required, Electrical and ICE motors – required, Electrical systems (single- and three-phase), Plumbing and HVAC systems
•  Valid CA driver’s license and ability to be insured under company insurance, required
•  Availability to work weekends or evenings as needed, especially during harvest/peak season.
•  Ability to work outdoors in both sub-freezing temperatures and during times of excessive heat.
•  Experience with skills related to general maintenance, including welding, painting, and general construction, preferred.
•  Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods of time.
•  Frequently required to use hands and arms to operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
•  Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
•  Visual and auditory ability to safely perform tasks in various environments, including low-light areas and around operating equipment.
•  Ability to work in varying physical positions including working on rooftops, in confined spaces, and on uneven terrain.

Work Environment: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, including production facilities, hospitality spaces, and exterior grounds. Exposure to seasonal weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and dust. May be exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
