Manager, Digital Marketing and Ecommerce

Job Description:

The Wine Society Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Manager develops and implements strategic ecommerce and email marketing plans for the Boisset Collection. The Manager must stay apprised of changes in the digital marketing and ecommerce environment to best serve objectives of Boisset and adjust plans accordingly. This role uses a variety of industry concepts, best practices, and procedures to increase consumer engagement, raise brand awareness and drive sales for the Wine Society and Boisset Collection.

Essential Functions:

Email Marketing and Campaign Management
•  In conjunction with the Director of Digital Marketing and Ecommerce's scheduling, programming and design direction, implement all email marketing for Wine Society by Boisset, consisting of design, copy, calls-to-action and deployment of the following types of campaigns:

o General Mailings and Newsletters

o Product Releases

o Special Offers

o Event Promotion
•  Work closely with our Social Media Manager to ensure he/she has the information and materials he/she needs for corresponding social media postings.
•  Work closely with the Director of the Program to create and implement targeted product offerings as well as nurture cycles to Visitors, New Customers, New Advisors, Club Members, et al.
•  Campaign setup on our website and shopping carts, consisting of initiating inventory transfers, product and coupon setup / takedown.
•  List Management

o Continue to grow & nurture email lists organically through lead captures (event, visitor and website, etc.)

o Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions (content downloads, site page visits, etc.).

o Measure results and optimize the lead nurturing workflows for these segments to convert leads into customers

o Work to minimize list decay and unsubscribes while increasing the productivity of email sends

Web and E-commerce Management
•  Liaise with Production and DTG Inventory management to manage product release schedule and keep our online products up-to-date.
•  Work proactively with digital marketing to identify, develop and launch engaging branding elements for websites/shopping cart and content.
•  Continuous evaluation of website user experience to identify ways to improve and enhance the brand and shopping experience.

Miscellaneous
•  Both the Boisset Collection and the department work in an agile environment, meaning that this position will be cross-trained in many areas within digital marketing and ecommerce and will be expected to assist as needed.
•  Provide the Director with general program support as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

•  5 years digital marketing experience, preferably in the beverage or membership industry.
•  Intermediate to advanced knowledge and practice of Adobe Suite products.
•  Technical adaptability; email marketing, ecommerce (C7), social media, inventory management, content management.
•  Strong trade insight and understanding (channels, distributors, programming and incentives).
•  Demonstrated ability to work closely with a diverse commercial organization.
•  Ability to represent the company effectively and professionally with external parties.
•  Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and respond quickly and appropriately.

Additional Functions:

•  Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
•  Participate in team efforts and perform additional duties as needed.

Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses:

•  Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university required; or 12-24 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•  Current, valid Driver's License, insurable driving record, and proof of current automobile insurance required.

Physical Requirements: .
•  Moderate physical activity performing occasional somewhat strenuous activities including standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and carrying. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with the fingers. Requires lifting and moving objects up to 40 lbs. in weight. Clear vision (close and distant) and ability to adjust focus. Hearing adequate for telephone, office, and group conversation.

Work Environment
•  Primarily in a well lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation. Periods required in an un-heated indoor setting (wine cellar) with changing conditions. Short periods outdoors while conducting tours or moving between buildings. Moderate noise levels typical of public space: music sound system, public conversations, telephones/cell phones, large groups.

Schedule and Travel Requirements
•  Variable schedule: primarily a business (Monday-Friday) schedule but will also require weekends, periodic evenings, and/or travel time.
•  Position includes moderate overnight travel and/or travel by auto or air.
