Job Title: Harvest Enology Intern
Location: Horse Heaven Wine Company, Prosser, WA
Reports To: Winemaker
Employment Type: Seasonal, Full-Time (August–November)
Compensation: $22-26 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary:
Horse Heaven Wine Company is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals for our 2025 Harvest Enology Internship. This hands-on position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in the production of premium wines, working alongside a dedicated winemaking team during the peak of the harvest season. Interns will be immersed in all aspects of enological operations and will assist with both laboratory and cellar tasks to support quality wine production.
Key Responsibilities:
•  Perform routine laboratory analyses including Brix, pH, TA, and SO2
•  Assist with fermentation monitoring (temperature, density, sensory evaluation)
•  Collect grape and juice samples from fermenters
•  Maintain detailed and accurate inventory, lab records and data entry
•  Assist in yeast and nutrient additions, inoculations, and other fermentation management tasks
•  Work collaboratively with cellar and winemaking staff to support daily production operations
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
•  Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Enology, Viticulture, Food Science, or a related field
•  Previous harvest or lab experience preferred but not required
•  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
•  Ability to work long, flexible hours including weekends and holidays
•  Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
•  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
•  Passion for wine and a willingness to learn
