Tasting Room Manager

Job Description:

A family-owned winery along the beautiful Adelaida Road in Paso Robles is seeking a seasoned hospitality professional to serve as Tasting Room Manager. This role requires a detail-oriented, adaptable, and engaging individual to work collaboratively within a small, cross-functional team. The Tasting Room Manager will oversee daily operations Thursday-Monday, manage the Tasting Room staff, ensure exceptional guest service, and supervise wine sales.

Responsibilities
•  Hands-on management of tasting room service and operations with attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and efficiency
•  Deliver and ensure exceptional customer experiences to guests
•  Ensure attentive and personalized reservation and communication support
•  Manage day-to-day sales including wine club, online, and shipping orders
•  Reconcile cash register and prepare deposits
•  Manage staffing needs, including hiring, team oversight, and scheduling
•  Facilitate regular meetings and training sessions to build wine and brand expertise with the team
•  Collaborate across other departments to curate guest-focused programs that elevate the tasting room and support sales growth
•  Monitor and report on key sales indicators and objectives
•  Manage inventory processes, including monthly stock counts, bi-weekly transfers, and the addition of new SKUs
•  Maintain and coordinate regular upkeep of the Tasting Room to ensure it is guest-ready
•  Model and enforce company values and policies


Requirements
•  Must be 21+ Years of Age
•  2+ years of hospitality management experience (Wine Industry preferred)
•  RBS Certification and understanding of responsible alcohol service
•  A passion for exceptional guest service and team development
•  Integrity, reliability, and a hands-on leadership style
•  Strong communication and organization skills
•  A self-starter with a can-do attitude
•  Creative ability to problem solve
•  Enthusiasm for collaborating with others
•  Strong computer literacy with experience using POS, Reservation platforms, Excel, and Google Suite
•  Professional Appearance and Demeanor
•  Available to work weekends, events, and some holidays (ie: three day weekends)
•  Ability to lift/carry wine, work on your feet, climb stairs/ladders, and move between indoor/outdoor areas

Expected Work Environment: The tasting room is a non-smoking work environment. Employees working in the tasting room are asked to not smoke or vape while on duty, and be free of any aroma such as smoke (of any kind), perfumes, hand lotions, or hair products. While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually works in the tasting room with moderate noise levels, heavy foot traffic, food, wine, and office equipment.
