Job Description:

Job Summary:
Lynmar Estate, an independent, family-owned producer of ultra-premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, is looking for a Junior Chef to assist in the kitchen. The position will report to Executive Chef David Frakes, and responsibilities will include preparing meals, as well as assisting in the kitchens as necessary.

What We Look For
•  Basic knowledge of all kitchen areas, including prep, pantry, basic cooking methods, pastries and breads
•  Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
•  Ability to contribute to a positive work atmosphere by communicating with customers, co-workers and management according to established standards
•  Ability to read and comprehend detailed technical instructions, correspondence and memos
•  Ability to write correspondence, and to prepare technical instructional procedures
•  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
•  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
•  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations
•  Ability to follow instructions and willingness to help with various tasks, as needed
•  Detail oriented, organized and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
•  Minimum 3-5 years cooking experience, with emphasis on contemporary cuisine
•  Independent work ethic while recognizing the importance of a positive team attitude

•  Execution and pursuit of excellence in all tasks
•  Learn and adhere to all policies and procedures for Lynmar Estate and the Tasting Room Kitchen
•  Maintain ongoing cleanliness of Kitchen facilities
•  Report any injuries or when something is not working
•  Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
•  Willingness to comply with all food safety trainings and procedures
•  Participation in team trainings, when necessary
