CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
CFO Position Summary:
Folio Wine is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations and strategy. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects for the company including accounting, finance, business analytics and is the main contact with external partners and Shareholders.
The right candidate will have 15+ years of accounting and finance experience, above average financial acumen, exceptional communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. The CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and Senor Leadership Team to develop and refine the company’s long term financial strategy, supporting business growth, profitability and value creation. This role requires a hands-on, results driven leader with strong financial accountability, investment expertise and the ability to navigate complex capital and debt markets and a fundamental understanding of GAAP, internal controls and financial analysis. The CFO will oversee the accounting team, manage bank relationships and ensure compliance with financial regulations and legal requirements.
Financial Management:
• Own and manage bank relationships and cash monitoring projections
• Prepare and present financial reports, budgets and key metrics to the leadership team and Board of Directors
• Establish and lead regular monthly, quarterly and annual financial review processes
• Lead and own strategic planning by providing financial leadership to evaluate financial structures, cash needs, investments, budgeting and asset disposal opportunities and long-term planning
• Lead regular monthly, quarterly and annual financial review processes
• Oversee inventory management to ensure efficient cash utilization
• Conduct inventory analysis, including costing analysis, inventory turns, and capital deployment.
• Provide monthly financial reports to managers and Shareholders to support effective decision-making
• Lead the financial analysis and regular distributor and depletions analysis.
• Cash management, process supplier and vendor wire payments and manage the FX strategy
• Lead the annual insurance renewal process
• Manage and communicate with all external Compliance Vendors
• Work closely with Controller on all audit issues
• Review all corporate agreements to ensure Folio is protected from exposure to risks and liabilities
• Act as the company’s main legal contact and engage partner law firms as required
• Credit collections/point of contact for main suppliers
• Manage, coach and develop a strong team of leaders, improving internal controls and encouraging growth and development
• Deep understanding of U.S. distributor and wholesale models; international experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within the wine industry
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. MBA/CPA strongly preferred
• Strong ability to navigate bank relationships and negotiations
• Deep understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles and tax laws
• Proven track record of managing complex financial operations and driving profitability
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Proficient in Microsoft and financial software, experience with Business Central a plus
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to large and small groups
• Must be able to juggle multiple projects and priorities and the ability to work independently
• A self-starter who thrives in challenging, fast-paced environments and embraces change as an opportunity for growth
• Comfortable working in both strategic and tactical roles – from high-level planning to rolling up your sleeves and diving into the details.
• 20% Travel Required (Domestic and International)
• Remote/Hybrid Option
• Prior knowledge of working with French Based companies and the ability to speak or understand French a plus
Comp & Benefits:
Salary Range for the CFO Position: $250,000-$300,000 + Bonus
