Beckmen Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery, with a reputation for producing high-quality, award-winning wines from our two vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. We were the first Demeter certified biodynamic vineyard in Santa Barbara County and are one of the largest certified vineyards in California.

We are actively seeking to hire a motivated, enthusiastic individual to work in our estate vineyard tasting room south of Los Olivos as a part-time Sales Associate, up to 30 hours per week. The ideal candidate must have exceptional customer service skills, as well as experience in either hospitality or sales. If you want to take the next step in your wine career, this position is for you! Prior experience in the wine industry is required. Base pay depends on experience, with sales commission, wine club commissions, and cash/card tips.

Expectations:

Minimum one year experience in the wine industry.
Has general wine knowledge. Knowledge of Santa Ynez Valley wines and Rhone varietals is preferred.
Excels at selling and upselling wine and wine club memberships.
Works exceptionally well in a team environment.
Able to multi-task .
Has an enthusiastic and energetic attitude.
Desire to learn quickly about our personal wine-making history and share that knowledge accurately with guests as a “brand ambassador”.
Job Duties:

Promote and sell wine and club membership by guiding guests through the tasting experience.
Make all customers feel welcome throughout their experience, from their arrival to departure.
Ring up sales and can handle cash and credit cards in a quick and efficient manner.
Maintain the appearance of the tasting room, which includes stocking wine and merchandise, washing and drying glasses, and some additional cleaning.
Attend scheduled staff meetings, held in the evenings and/or on weekends.
Requirements:

Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to work a part time schedule, including weekdays and/or weekends.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
