The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Sonoma-Cutrer, Greenwing and Postmark.
The Membership Advisor will be responsible for outreach to the company’s Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) customer base, with a primary focus on membership, retention, and sales. This position interacts with DTC managers, Member Services, Marketing and Winemaking to understand and sell wines from each of the company’s ten winery brands. The Membership Advisor must possess a proven record of phone and in-person sales of ultra-premium wines along with oral and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize sales opportunities, self-motivation and direction, and a love for serving customers and wine.
This is a hybrid position that can be based at either our Paraduxx Winery in Napa or our Kosta Browne Winery in Sebastopol.
What we will ask you to do:
Outbound Sales and Corporate Gifting (75%)
Communicate with members to offer our world-class wines and support membership retention.
Serve as a memorable brand ambassador between winery brands and customers.
Build trust with key customers and strengthen connections by learning more about personal preferences.
Acquire, build, and maintain new corporate clients to become point of contact for sales, gifting needs, and order fulfillment, as well as keeping connected throughout the year.
Assist Member Services team with inbound communication during high volume times.
Work toward established monthly and annual sales goals.
Administration and Education (20%)
Process orders and meticulously update customer profiles with relevant information, both quantitative and qualitative.
Make tasting room and event reservations for customers.
Communicate inventory levels.
Continuously seek to learn what makes our winery, winemakers, wines, vintages, vineyards, and history unique and translate knowledge into custom messaging and stories to build brand equity with customers.
In-Person Customer Interaction (5%)
Liaise with customers when they have planned a visit to our Visitor Centers.
Represent the company at on-site events as needed.
What you will need:
3 years’ premium wine sales (or other premium consumer product) capacity with an emphasis on exceptional customer service.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
A track record of success in selling wine directly to consumers over the phone and/or in-person (i.e., retail establishment, tasting room, or restaurant).
Experience with winery order management software, specifically with WineDirect, a plus.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft OS – Outlook, Excel, Word, and Dynamics 365.
Attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs and respond accordingly.
Passion to serve internal and external customers in a confident and professional manner.
Ability to function independently and make empowered decisions that positively affect the customer’s experience within compliance.
Valid Driver's License and insurable MVR.
