Del Dotto Vineyards is an Ultra-Premium family-owned winery in Napa and St. Helena. We are currently recruiting highly motivated, energetic people to work in our tasting room. We have a great staff that works hard but also has a lot of fun doing it.

We are looking for a full time tasting room Assistant Manager to work in our fast paced, exciting wineries. This position is critical to creating an inviting and positive atmosphere, ensuring all guests have an exceptional, memorable experience during their visit.

Duties

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tasting room which include:

Providing and taking responsibility for a consistent and pleasant customer experience
Maintaining a working knowledge of the tasting room menu, products, partner winery Villa Del Lago and procedures
Handling general oversight and direction of team members
Potentially assisting with staff scheduling
Assuming responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the tasting room
Assigning/delegating tasks as appropriate to team members
Assist in training/coaching team members on procedures.
Assist in developing team members’ wine knowledge.
Assist in managing inventory.
Assist in pricing and stocking retail or delegating accordingly.

Ensuring team members complete all procedures properly, including (but not limited to):
Menu presentation
Serving
Delicacies presentation
Suggestive selling
Speaking knowledgably about DDV, our partner winery VDL and wine in general
Making decisions based on tasting room traffic patterns.
Balancing the cash register at the end of the night and performing other opening/closing duties
Ensuring that the tasting room is properly secured at the end of the night.
Filling in, when necessary, in emergency situations
Meeting regularly with ownership/Managers to review performance.
And any other duties as deemed necessary by ownership.
Assist with member events.

Management Skills:
Ability to direct other team members in a direct but pleasant manner.
Assistant Managers are to always conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Assistant Managers are not to consume alcohol on the job unless required by the necessities of the tasting room and if provided by owners, General Manager or approved by Upper Management.
Assistant Managers are expected to report to HR or the General Manager when urgent issues arise that they cannot settle themselves or with another manager.
Assistant Managers are to discuss directly with managers in other departments regarding staff member’s performance, issues, or concerns unless safety is an issue.

Prior Experience Required:

Prior management experience is strongly encouraged.
Prior serving experience is strongly encouraged.
Prior Wine Knowledge strongly encouraged, but not required, though an interest in learning about wine is a must.


Salary: $20 - $24 hourly, with comm $35 - $44
