We are seeking a New York City based Spirits Portfolio Manager to lead and expand our diverse spirits portfolio. This role requires a dynamic individual with deep industry knowledge, strong relationships with producers and accounts, and the ability to develop strategic initiatives that drive sales and brand growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in spirits sales, brand management, and portfolio development. The Spirits Portfolio Manager will work with a leading National importer and distributor committed to curating an exceptional portfolio of spirits. We partner with producers who share our dedication to quality, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Brand Management:
• Oversee and curate the Spirits Portfolio, ensuring alignment with company values and market trends.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distilleries, suppliers, and brand partners.
• Identify and onboard new spirits brands that complement and enhance our existing portfolio.
• Collaborate with producers on pricing, allocations, promotions, and long-term brand strategy.
Sales & Market Strategy:
• Work closely with the sales team to drive growth and provide education on the spirits portfolio.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and brand visibility.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Support key accounts, distributors, and on-premise/off-premise partners with programming and activations.
Training & Education:
• Lead staff training sessions and educational seminars for the sales team and clients.
• Develop marketing materials, tasting notes, and sales tools to support brand storytelling.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and tastings.
• Develop and execute training program for sales team
• Create product tech sheets before arrival to share with sales staff.
Operational & Financial Management:
• Work with the operations and logistics team to ensure efficient inventory management.
• Set and manage pricing structures, ensuring competitive positioning in the market.
• Track sales performance and provide data-driven insights to optimize strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in spirits sales, brand management, or portfolio management.
• Strong network within the spirits industry, including relationships with distilleries and accounts.
• Deep knowledge of spirits categories, production methods, and market trends.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Passion for craft, independent, and sustainably-produced spirits.
• Ability to travel as needed for brand visits, events, and market work.
