Lenné Estate is seeking a creative, multi-talented individual to serve as our Events Manager.
Our vineyard tasting room, located near Yamhill, OR, will soon reopen after a two year, multi-million dollar renovation. The new space will offer expansive seating, exceptional views, multiple private group spaces, and a much larger and more luxurious environment than our former design.
The Events Manager will be an integral part of our small team, helping to create fantastic events of all types in our tasting room, vineyard, and winery space. Once Lenne reopens we plan to greatly expand our events calendar, and will host private lunches and dinners, small weddings, wine club exclusive events, blind tastings, corporate events, vineyard tours, sunset evenings, live music, crafts fairs, and much more. As part of a small team, you should expect to wear a lot of hats and regularly host tasting guests, but the main focus of the job will be on event management..
This position will collaborate on the creation, coordination, and operation of onsite and off-site events, including resource allocation, calendar management, customer outreach, layout and decor, food and beverage service, and communication with clients, staff, and vendors. The ideal applicant is well-organized, creative, ambitious, and outgoing, with experience creating and managing events of all types, and brings a passion to present educational and entertaining guest experiences focused on our world-class pinot noir and Chardonnay.
Requirements:
* 1-2+ years of event coordination experience
* 2-3+ years hospitality experience, preferably winery or hotel.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Good computer skills, including proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets as well as reservation/event software.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule on site, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* OLCC permit and Oregon food handler’s permit.
* Must be 21+ years of age with a valid driver's license.
* Knowledge of the wines and appellations of the Willamette Valley, along with general wine knowledge – WSET or CSW certification recommended.
* Experience with food/wine pairing, menu creation, food prep and presentation.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This job will occasionally require standing for long periods of time, as well as lifting and carrying up to 40lbs, climbing stairs, driving a Kubota around the vineyard, and walking up the steep hillside vineyard. Working conditions may include extended times out of doors, as well as food prep and plating, setting up tables and chairs and tableware, washing dishes and cutlery, etc. There will be some irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
$25/hour plus tips and commissions.
PTO and paid holidays.
