Position Purpose

Acting on own initiative, the Marketing Finance Manager supports the financial engagement of Delicato's Marketing and Customer Sales functions to help achieve financial goals and objectives. The Marketing Finance Manager coordinates the annual planning cycle for these teams, including the strategic plan, annual plan and latest estimates. The Marketing Finance Manager ensures the monthly close activities are performed accurately and timely and completes comprehensive monthly business reviews with each team, including identification and mitigation of risks and opportunities.

Team Leadership and Culture

•  Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met
•  Manages company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions; encourages strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
•  Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies
•  Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
•  Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in costeffective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
•  Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
•  Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
•  Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
•  Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
•  Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
•  Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
•  Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
•  Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies

Essential Duties

•  Acts as key thought partner to the Marketing and Customer Sales teams for day-to-day budget management, including ongoing risk and opportunity assessment
•  Manages the annual planning cycle for these teams including 3-year strategic plan, annual plan and latest estimates
•  Prepares reporting and reviews monthly results with each team including volume (shipments, depletions, and syndicated data), P & amp;L, operating expense detail and key variance drivers; ensures team members fully understand results and collaborates with them to determine risk mitigation actions; performs ad-hoc analyses as necessary
•  Helps develop teams' financial acumen through financial training and reinforces key concepts of the company's strategy
•  Oversees month end close for each team's marketing expense accrual process; investigates and corrects anomalies or inaccuracies in financial data
•  Analyzes market data to understand local market conditions, supporting informed financial decisions, supply/demand discussions, and understanding business outcomes
•  Supports pre- and post-evaluation of spend for Marketing and Customer Sales to guide discussion on effectiveness and consistency with company objectives
•  Provides support for new product launches, end-of-product-life transitions, and general inventory management, including conducting market forecasts, analyzing inventory positions, and supporting marketing partners with necessary data and analysis for decision-making
•  Maintains relationships with various other functional management teams to ensure quality deliverables and information flow, including Sales Finance, FP&A, Accounting and HR

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

•  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; business, finance, accounting or related field preferred
•  5 years experience in financial management or accounting
•  2 years leadership or supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•  Familiarity with the three-tier distribution network along with shipment, depletion and scan data reporting and analysis preferred
•  Expert computer skills required, with ability to report and analyze multi-dimensional data and complex information
•  Must exhibit excellent communication skills, analytical skills and problem-solving ability

Working Conditions

•  General Office environment
•  May be required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
