Production Assistant Fortunate Son Wines
Fortunate Son Wines is looking for two full-time Production Assistants. The person must be able to work independently and efficiently at multiple locations alongside the Production Manager. Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and winery management databases and be highly skilled at operating lab analysis equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing luxury winery group.
Daily tasks include:
- Daily analysis and monthly SO2 checks using Foss and Mettler Toledo SO2 titrator.
- Manage work orders entries in Innovint.
- Physical monthly inventory.
- Track and maintain current inventories in Innovint.
- Maintain high-quality winemaking standards.
- Have a complete understanding of wine progression and abnormal occurrences, such as VA, re-fermentation, microbial population changes, etc.
- Oversee Cellar seasonal employees at facilities.
Harvest Duties:
- Grape sampling and processing.
- Follow all Winemaker’s directives and protocols.
- Order wine addition supplies for harvest.
- Perform harvest additions and inoculations as directed.
- Manage and track primary and secondary fermentation.
- Light cellar work as needed – punchdowns, pumpovers, additions, cellar sanitation.
Bottling Duties
- Monitor bottlings runs and pull QC samples and data
- Monitor racking and blending of wines.
- Monitoring and keeping track of bottling supplies.
Requirements:
Requires 2-4 years’ experience in a similar position
B.S. in food-science or enology program.
Be able to lift 50 pounds
Be available for the Harvest work schedule of 6-7 days per week and 10+ hours a day.
