Tasting Room Coordinator

Job Description:

This position supports the tasting room and all facets of its operation, including DTC, distribution, phone, and online sales. The ideal candidate will enjoy leading and training our tasting room team and efficiently managing inventory. The preferred candidate will love social media, interacting with people, and keeping things tidy. This position offers a talented tasting room associate or tasting room lead the opportunity to move up the management ladder. This is a tasting room position, so your schedule will include weekends and some holidays. This position reports to the Hospitality Director.

General duties:
•  Models exceptional customer service by providing knowledgeable, consistent, and courteous responses to visitor needs, questions, complaints, or problems.
•  Responsible for ensuring that tasting room staff comply with approved practices.
•  Reports and investigates tasting room issues promptly, including visitor complaints or staff issues.
•  Actively communicate via social media, email, and text with our customers.
•  Ensures timely response to emails & phone messages.
•  Trains and reinforces the standards of behavior expected from the tasting room team.
•  Maintains an efficient and clean work environment in the tasting room and surrounding garden.
•  Other duties as assigned by the Hospitality Director.

Tasting room duties:
•  Ensures the Tasting Room is at its best daily & ready for visitors.
•  Shares wine knowledge and experience with staff
•  Enforces best practices on leading customers through tastings and assisting them with purchasing decisions and club sign-up.
•  Monitors food preparation by the staff to ensure that the food presentation meets brand standards.
•  Responsible for opening & closing the cash drawer.
•  Verifies adequate stock or tasting room supplies daily, including glasses, retail, and wine.
•  Monitors and reconciles inventory daily, weekly, and monthly.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  Two years minimum experience in hospitality.
•  Motivated to solve problems and improvise when necessary.
•  Able to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
•  Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
•  Passion and well-rounded knowledge of wine, pinot noir, and the wine industry.
•  Able to stand, walk, and talk for extended periods as job duties require.
•  Able to lift items weighing 50 lbs (12-bottle box of wine).
•  Possess or can acquire an OLCC Service Permit.
