Summary:
Responsible to the CFO for all day-to-day accounting functions and oversight of the accounting team. Responsible for all month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities and general ledger maintenance as well as maintaining and improving processes to ensure accurate and timely information is available. The successful candidate will need to meet the required qualifications and have sufficient relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and support the accounting, purchasing, and credit team
• Own the day-to-day accounting functions for the company
• Full cycle monthly accounting duties including but not limited to:
• Payroll reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Inventory reconciliations
• Sales and COGS reconciliations
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Commission calculations and reporting
• Financial Statement Prep
• Journal entry review and posting
• Work with CFO to ensure processes are efficient and documented via standard operating procedure documentation
• Work with the CFO to assess systems, procedures, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement any agreed upon changes
• Maintain all current and potentially new financial reporting systems or systems used specifically by the accounting, purchasing, and credit teams.
• General ledger maintenance and scrubbing to ensure accounts are clean and lingering issues are addressed in a timely manner
• Act as point person for all external financial statement reviews as needed
• Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested
Keys to Success
• Advanced/expert level excel skills
• Understanding of GAAP
• Excellent verbal and written communication (English)
• Time management
• Understanding ERP systems and auxiliary systems
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related fields, or equivalent relevant work experience
• 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution (not required)
• Experience in people and team management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience with multiple types of ERPs and accounting software
• System implementation/integration experience preferred
• Proven record of managing competing priorities
