Established by Bill Foley in 1996, Foley Family Wines (FFW) is a portfolio of highly acclaimed wines and spirits from some of the world’s greatest estates. The company owns more than 24 wineries and a distillery, each with its distinct style, legacy, and approach to hospitality. FFW has expanded its portfolio significantly since its founding, now including such storied brands as Chalk Hill Estate Winery, Sebastiani, Roth, Banshee, Ferrari-Carano, Chateau St. Jean, and Lancaster in Sonoma; Merus, Silverado, and Foley Johnson in Napa Valley; Lincourt, Firestone, and Foley Estates in Southern California; Chalone Vineyard in Monterey County; Four Graces and Acrobat in Oregon; and Three Rivers in Washington. In 2023, the company began operating Minden Mill Distilling in Nevada and relaunched Charles Goodnight Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey. FFW’s import portfolio includes Lucien Albrecht in France, Nieto Senetiner in Argentina, and 14 wine brands and Lighthouse Gin, spanning three of New Zealand’s most acclaimed winegrowing regions: Marlborough, Central Otago, and Martinborough.

Position Summary
The individual for this position will provide direction and leadership of the Quality Functions working towards attaining core goals and performance for both short and long-term objectives. Independently performs and process monitor/verify routine physical and chemical analysis of grain, product, water, or any other related material pertaining to the operation of the company. He/she will lead and carry out QC/QA activities to ensure the highest level of safety, compliance and quality with an adherence to all local, state, fed and other agency requirements/permits.

•  Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting safety awareness to co-workers.
•  Lead and monitor daily/weekly/monthly process and analysis schedules to coordinating production requirements, equipment availability and the most efficient use of time and resources.
•  Preparation and standardization of laboratory reagents.
•  Collect and prepare samples for analysis.
•  Perform analysis in a timely fashion, using either automated or bench chemistry analytical methods,
•  Recognize out of range analysis and take action, communicate findings.
•  Ensure that all products meet standards and specifications prior to bottling.
•  Routine preventative maintenance, or emergency maintenance, on laboratory equipment.
•  Inform supervisor of the need to purchase lab operating supplies.
•  Manage recordkeeping, FDA lot tracking, analysis entry, or any other database entry.
•  Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab.
•  Understand and comply to HACCP/GMP programs.
•  Manage the Quality control program, to include performing incoming materials inspections, Bottling Line Quality Control, maintaining QC records, and performing all relevant analyses for release to bottling and post-bottling quality control and compliance.
•  Coordinate all laboratory activities to ensure that necessary analysis are completed on time by scheduling routine checks and setting priorities.
•  Maintain all computerized analytical records in a neat and timely manner.
•  Coordinate product non-conformance hold, where necessary.
•  Monitor packaging materials and finished product during bottling to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to standards/specifications.
•  Analyze all bottled spirits and perform bottling quality control checks to ensure standards are met.
•  Maintain QC analysis, TTB approvals, bottling line checks, packaging specifications and evaluations.
•  Maintain records of TTB approvals, , and dry goods.
•  Participate in the Distillery food safety program and prerequisite programs such as the pest control program.
•  Interacts with vendors from a material quality, food safety, and continuous improvement perspective.

Minimum Qualifications
•  4yr BS/BA degree (Chemistry or related science preferred) or 3 to 5 yrs experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
•  Follow Company Safety guidelines and requirements.
•  Comply with Food Safety and GMP requirements.
•  Ability to work independently or in teams.
•  Good organizational, multitasking, and problem solving skills.
•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at moderate heights.
•  Knowledge of spirits sensory characteristics (a plus).
•  Ability to effectively communicate to site personnel, Vendors, OEM’s, and Management. Proven strong communication skills.
•  Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s values of exhibiting the highest quality standards in all endeavors.

Pay Scale: The base pay range offered for this position is $24 - $30 per hour. This range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The actual compensation offered will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, skills, experience, education, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
