A Region Director of Chain Sales job is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE).

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned accounts business including sales, distribution, and programing budgets. A Regional Director of Chain Sales will be based in the Central region.

Region Director of Chain Sales job responsibilities include:

•  Effectively represent Ste. Michelle Wine Estates to off-trade chain accounts and Distributor Partners in the assigned marketing area.
•  Motivation, training and career development of direct reports in assigned territory.
•  Effectively manage all aspects of the distributor chain headquarter channel.
•  Communicate and sell company brand plans/objectives, sales and marketing programs to assigned customers and Distributors.
•  Manage company business and case sales within budgetary guidelines in order to meet Regional/Corporate contribution objectives.
•  Develop strong business relationships and understand customer strategies to become a preferred supplier and the 'go-to' person for information for customers and distributors.
•  Prepare forecasts for budgets and depletions for all brands on an as needed basis.
•  Develop knowledge of the competitive landscape to gain a deeper understanding of each customer's business model and to identify relevant opportunity gaps.
•  Provide management with specific market reports on customers, market problems/opportunities, competitive activity, pricing, and sales/merchandising results.
•  Involvement with industry trade organizations to develop relationships with key decision makers at major customers and distributors.
•  Knowledge of specific brands, types, sizes and estimated sales trends for all wine and spirit categories for SMWE brands and primary competitors within assigned market.
•  In depth knowledge of the retail, grocery, warehouse club, liquor and drugstore industries in areas such as operations, merchandising, category management, finance measures and the business of each assigned customer.

Position Requirements:

•  4-year college degree required.
•  Minimum 5 years calling on national retail chain accounts preferred.
•  Proficiency with MS Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint skills.
•  Proficiency with IRI, Nielson and other category management tools.
•  Previous supervisory experience preferred.
•  Home based with heavy/moderate travel calling on account and spending time in trade with distributor partners. Position will require nights and weekends for special events and customer outings.
•  History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation:

$ 114,400 - $ 165,000 /yr. based upon relevant experience.
