Job Description:

Rivers-Marie Winery is seeking a part time tasting room host at it’s property in Calistoga. This is an opportunity to join a close knit, small team and help showcase the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignons from Thomas Rivers Brown and Genevieve Marie Welsh.

This position will report to the Director of Hospitality and will be a part time role with two days alone on property and one day shared with the Director. We are looking for a dynamic associate who has established tasting room experience and solid knowledge of the wines of Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast. The position will be centered around the tasting room in Calistoga and may involve some off site events

Job Details

•  Sunday-Tuesday work week
•  30-35 dollars per hour depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities
•  Educate guests on the wines and story of Rivers-Marie
•  Deliver excellent customer service experience in person as well as on the phone and over email
•  Be well-versed in and articulate the intricacies of each wine and what sets them apart from one another
•  Use your knowledge of winemaking, vineyard practices and vintage differences to educate clients on what sets Rivers-Marie apart
•  Create a comfortable atmosphere for our guests to learn about enjoy our wines while providing excellent hospitality
•  Maintain and expand upon customer data
•  Input orders into Figure e-commerce system
•  Follow-up with customers regarding shipping, billing and any other order related questions
•  Answer phone inquiries and emails related to direct to consumer offers as well as tasting room requests
•  Perform opening and closing of tasting room
•  Cleaning and buffing glasses and set up and breakdown of tastings

Qualifications
•  Three years in previous hospitality role
•  Passion for wine and interest in learning more about all aspects of wine
•  Deep understanding of the wines of California especially Sonoma Coast and Napa Valley
•  Warm Personality and desire to provide excellent customer service and tasting experience
•  Excellent written and verbal skills especially when conversing with clients
•  Professional demeanor and attention to detail
•  Knowledge of POS Systems. Knowledge of Figure E-Commerce is a plus.
•  Ability to multi-task and problem solve quickly
•  Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
