Vineyard/Cellar worker

Job Description:

Andante Vineyard is located in Dallas, Oregon in the heart of the Willamette Valley, within the Van Duzer Corridor AVA.

We are seeking a new addition to our vineyard and cellar team that share our core values and love of all things vine to wine.

We focus on ultra-premium, small lot production of Pinot Noir, Gamay, Rosé of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté and Marsanne.

Vineyard Duties - 75% (December-August):
•  Follow instructions of Viticulturist and perform essential vineyard tasks by hand:
•  Trellis maintenance
•  Pruning and brush pulling
•  Tipping and tying
•  Leaf removal
•  Suckering
•  Shoot thinning and Shoot positioning
•  Cluster thinning
•  Weed management
•  Other duties assigned

Cellar Duties - 25% (September-November):
You should be able to commit to long hours, overtime, weekend work during harvest time, and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Our ideal candidate has a passion for wine, keen eye for detail, is a hard worker who thrives in a team environment, and is eager to pitch in wherever needed. Forklift skills and experience are a plus!
•  Vineyard sampling
•  Fruit receiving and sorting
•  Fermentation monitoring
•  Winery sanitation
•  Wine movements
•  Perform tasks assigned with or without direct supervision in a correct and timely manner
•  Bottling
•  Other duties assigned

Lunch will be provided throughout harvest, and dinner when the days run extra-long.

Requirements and Qualifications:
•  At least 1 year previous experience preferred or equivalent education.
•  Basic knowledge of viticulture & winemaking
•  Bending, kneeling and twisting repetitively throughout work shift.
•  Long term standing or walking on uneven terrain.
•  Repetitive wrist movement that encompasses squeezing, rotating and bending.
•  Motivated and willing to learn about wine and vines
•  Strong work ethic
•  Able to lift 50 lbs. and work extended hours in a physically demanding environment
•  Ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to safety procedures.
•  Reliable mode of transportation
