Haynes Vineyard is a historical estate in Napa, CA. We are situated in the heart of the Coombsville AVA just east of Downtown Napa, located in one of the cooler regions of the Napa Valley. Producing around 100 tons of fruit each year, Haynes Vineyard has 32 acres planted to a number of varietals being farmed organically with a biodynamic emphasis. With a winegrowing first philosophy, we take great care and pride in how we treat the soil. Our farming focuses to maintain the quality and longevity of our old vine plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir which were both planted 1967. The Haynes Vineyard is also producing world class Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot, and Mourvedre.

We are looking for an ideal candidate, one that is hard working and willing to learn. This is a team focused winery, for which every individual is vital to the success of the vintage. This position will be involved in all aspects of the estate with a focus on wine production and bottling but not limited to farm-work, vineyard work, and fulfillment of simple marketing tasks. The days can be long and dirty with various loud sounds, including, but not limited to, roosters, tractors, bladder presses and A-Z music.

Training will be provided in order to achieve peak productivity and cleanliness. If you like to work hard and get dirty but look up and see smiling faces of encouragement then this could be the opportunity for you.

Start date for this position would be at the beginning of July and through October.

Duties and responsibilities:
•  General cleaning of the entire facility and processing equipment daily.
•  Collecting and processing fruit samples from Estate vineyards
•  Processing fruit
•  Sanitizing/setting up pumps and tanks for wine movement
•  Set up and monitor pump-overs in a time efficient way
•  Punchdown tanks and bins
•  Removing pomace from tanks & presses
•  Racking, Topping, So2 additions, and other barrel work
•  Some vineyard work may be required
•  Some Chicken and Chicken Coop Care

Candidates must be able to:
•  Education - High School education or higher and proficiency with basic mathematics required.
•  Have the ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
•  Stand for long periods of time
•  Ability to understand and comply with any and all safety requirements
•  Lift 50 pounds
•  Tolerate varying climatic conditions
•  Work days that can exceed 10 hours, 6 days a week
•  Be punctual
•  Pay attention to detail
•  Document work with great accuracy
•  Be flexible and willing to work varying shifts, overtime, extended hours and weekends

Previous winery experience is a plus but not necessary
Forklift experience is a plus but not necessary
Commercial kitchen work is a plus but not necessary
Military service is plus but not necessary
Hourly pay is determined based on experience
