Seasonal (with option for full-time) Enologist

Job Description:

The Monterey Wine Company is seeking an Enologist that is motivated and hardworking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:

•  Assists in the management of wine inventory. Monitors barrels and assists in generation of the topping schedule.
•  Assists in entering data and maintaining production and inventory spreadsheets.
•  Performs audits of production activities ensuring appropriate sanitation and production procedures are followed.
•  Assist in winemaking production, warehouse management, and shipping and receiving.
•  Adhere to, and ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and local employment, wage and hour, safety rules, regulations, laws and permits.
•  Responsible for site safety and conformance with company manual procedures in cellar operations, and with regard to wine quality and costs. Maintains safety and compliance programs as mandated by company and regulatory agency standards.
•  Assist with Cellar Operations -Day and Night Shifts
•  Performs special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, experience and/or abilities required.

•  BS Degree in Enology or related field is preferred.
•  Ability to think both analytically and subjectively.
•  Computer literacy in software applications MS Word and Excel required. Experience in WMDB
•  Excellent communication skills, verbal, and written. Fluent in English.
•  Strong organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail. Ability to multi task.
•  Ability to adapt and be flexible within a changing work environment. Willing to work flexible and extended hours when necessary (graveyard shift during harvest).
•  Ability to contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner that works positively with clients, co-workers, and management.
•  One (1) years of experience working in a winery
•  Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead or motivate others; to work independently or in a team.
•  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
•  Must have legal authorization to work in the USA
Salary info-$55,000 to $ 59,000 (with overtime)
