Job Description:

CRU Winery’s Local Market Sales Executives (LMSE) provide an exceptional experience to guests & customers of the winery through his or her wine knowledge, stellar customer service and sales driven attitude across multiple sales channels (Tasting Room and Wholesale). This is a full-time position that requires weekend availability.
This role reports directly to the Tasting Room Supervisor (Santa Lucia Highlands), with a dotted line reporting relationship to the State Sales Manager (Wholesale). There will be a weekly schedule so it is clear which sales channel the LMSE will be working (some flexibility required to meet business needs).

Broad Areas of Responsibility include (and may be amended from time to time):

Tasting Room Sales (Saturday/Sunday) - located at the CRU Winery Tasting Room in the Santa Lucia Highlands (Soledad).
•  Lead guests through wine tasting experiences – educating them about the winery, wines, growing regions and brand. Ensure a fun, memorable and educational customer experience.
•  Build relationships with guests to convert them into Wine Club members and maintain strong relationships with existing wine club members.
•  Effectively suggest and sell wine, with the ability to “up-sell”
•  Support the team to meet and exceed DTC sales goals
•  Act as Supervisor on Duty on days when the Tasting Room Supervisor/Manager are not on duty, including opening/closing procedures and ensuring the team are focused and performing to expected standards.
•  Aid with set-up and breakdown of most winery events.
•  All other job requirements of a Tasting Room Associate.

Local Trade Account Management (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday) - covering San Jose, Salinas, Monterey regions & others as required.
•  Work with the California State Sales Manager and with Distributor Sales Managers to open new accounts.
•  Provide server trainings as needed.
•  Conduct consumer tastings and merchandising at accounts.
•  In some cases, you may need to deliver orders.
•  Cultivate long term relationships with our existing accounts.
•  Needs to be a natural sales and service professional that can motivate, develop, and educate others to the highest level of performance.

Skills/Qualifications required
•  Excellent communication and sales skill are essential
•  2-3 years’ experience selling/merchandising wine preferred.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age
•  Must have own car and be willing to travel (mileage reimbursed for work travel)
•  This position requires the ability to lift 40lbs on a regular basis and stand for six hours
•  Education: High School Diploma required, degree preferred.
