Hall Wines is looking for an experienced hospitality professional to manage our company’s newest Tasting Room. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated professional to catapult a new business with the support and credibility of a well-established company. The winery produces 3 brands (HALL, WALT and BACA), has 3 wineries, and operates 5 Tasting Rooms. The Palm Springs tasting room will be the 6th Tasting Room and the first in Southern California. The winery is owned by the Hall Family, whose reputation for outstanding wine and hospitality is far-reaching.

Position Overview:

The Hospitality Manager oversees all Guest experiences at the Tasting Room. He or she will recruit, train and motivate their team as well as maintain the facilities. The right candidate is a proven manager with exceptional organizational and people skills. He or she has a positive attitude, is willing to try new things to drive growth and is calm under pressure. This position reports to the President.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Pre-opening and Opening (Opening expected August/September 2024)

Work with President, Hospitality team and Marketing team in the conceptualization, design, and execution of the plans for service (both food and wine) in the Palm Springs Tasting room.
Hire and train Wine Educators, Backstaff, and other staff as required during the initial opening process.
Spend 4-5 weeks of immersion training in Napa and Sonoma at the Hall, Walt, and Baca tasting rooms as a core part of the training process. During this time, you’ll be immersed in learning about the winery, the wines, tasting room protocols and techniques, systems, inventory control, safety and security, inventory control and other.
Complete other duties and responsibilities as requested.


Ongoing operations:

The successful candidate will work with winery President and others in the Hospitality and Marketing teams to:

Lead the Tasting Room team to achieve business priorities: membership conversion, wine sales and brand positioning.
Outreach to other businesses and organizations to drive qualified traffic to the Tasting Room.
Oversee the customer experience including tours, events, and other duties as required.
Innovate to enhance the guest experience, manage expenditures, and create positive employment culture.
Create strategic plans including a sales plan, individual and team goals, SOPs, staff training and development, event standards, budgets, and all related administration.
Coordinate sales plans and promotions with the other Hospitality Managers and sales teams.
Responsible for the overall experience at the facility, including managing maintenance projects.
Establish standards for administration, pricing, budgeting, record keeping, inventory control, safety and security.
Complete annual budgets, track budget performance & prepare monthly management critiques on financial performance.
Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
Recruit, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; addressing and resolving problems in a timely manner.
Complete other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

3-5 years management experience in Tasting Rooms or Hospitality
Wine knowledge and enthusiasm.
Experience creating marketing and sales plans, sales goals, expense budgets
Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to learn different sales, POS and CRM platforms
General bookkeeping practices
Available to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and occasional evenings
Able to work independently and communicate well in a remote peer and manager environment
Excellent customer service, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills.
Must agree to participate in random drug testing as required
Physical requirements:

Requires continuous standing and carrying less than 50 lbs.; occasional climbing, stooping, twisting and fine manipulation; intermittent bending.
Compensation & Benefits:

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Position is bonus eligible.
