Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Winemaker to join the Argyle Winery winemaking & production team! Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for coordinating with the Winemaker while leading the Cellar Master, and Enologist to ensure all cellar operations are accomplished to meet winemaking quality/style and production goals. This person will oversee all winery and lab daily operations to ensure production stays on schedule, prioritizing efficient and safe workflow with the utmost quality. As an owner of the winemaking and cellar budget this role will help manage the financial performance throughout the year. This role is based in Newberg, OR and is a full-time, exempt position, working 4 / 10 hour shifts with extended hours during harvest and periods of production. Minimum Qualifications:

- Full-time work in the wine industry as an assistant winemaker (5+ years).
- Direct supervisory experience leading teams (2+ years).
- Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology, Fermentation Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
- Excellent wine tasting skills with the ability to perceive subtle differences wine (acidity, flavors, flaws, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office with Vintrace experience preferable
- Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensure all winemaking operations and decisions are accomplished according to
- Winemaker’s specifications with quality of the utmost standard
- Winemaking SOP’s and protocols are formulated, up to date, and shared with team
- Responsible for winemaking/cellar budget creation and execution
- Ensure winemaking production plans and quality parameters are scheduled and
executed in terms of bottling, lab analysis, daily wine work, and other cellar operations
- Lead the Cellar and Enology teams by creating a positive and supportive environment.
- Detail weekly workflow plans and share with Cellar Master and Enologist
- Overall winemaking strategy aligned to long term Argyle brand and demand plan
- Nurture and lead a positive and engaging Safety culture that ensures all team members
own safety and look out for one another
- Winemaking records and all wine movements/additions are maintained and up to date in Vintrace
- All records and paperwork up to date and in line with compliance requirements, including LIVE certification
- Inventory of bulk wine and supplements are managed effectively and in line with production requirements as well as reporting needs
- Work closely with Vineyard Manager on farming styles and tiers.
