General Winery Worker

Job Description:

McCormack-Williamson Winery is a family-owned wine production and storage facility located in the Lodi area. We store wine in tanks, barrels and cases for other wineries. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our winery team and become a part of a growing business.

Position Summary:
General Winery Worker will assist with mid-level general winery work, as well as with the case goods warehouse.

Essential Job Functions include:
Winery facilities maintenance and cleaning.
Equipment sanitation and operations.
Transfer, rack, filter and blend wines as directed.
Prepare case good orders, which could require driving a forklift, hand stacking and consolidating different vintages and varietals.
Operate forklift to organize and maintain warehouse goods inventory.
Tank mixing and wine additions.
Assist with cellar & barrel work, such as barrel cleaning, gassing, emptying & filling.
Proper use and handling of winery chemicals.
Assist with special bottling and labeling projects.
Assist with bulk wine shipments and receiving.
Safely drive and operate a forklift.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Minimum of two years winery or related experience.
Knowledge of standard cellar equipment.
Perform frequent physical tasks including but not limited to manual labor, lifting, bending, walking, climbing or other activities.
Required to roll and move barrels that weigh up to 70 lbs.
Required to lift and move equipment and wine cases that weigh up to 50lbs.
Required to conduct work at elevated heights.

Requirements:
Ability to communicate in English and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Ability to work inside and outside in changing temperatures and humidity levels.
Ability to prioritize work and follow direction.
Good attitude and willingness to learn new procedures, as well as comply with winery production and safety protocols.
Attention to detail a must as orders can be complicated.

Schedule:
40 hours per week
The regular work schedule is a 4/10 (4 days @ 10 hours/day) 7:00am-5:30pm with either Mondays or Fridays off. Some weeks may require switching to a 5/8 work schedule
(5 days @ 8 hours per day) due to holidays or limited crew members.

Compensation:
Starting hourly pay for this position will be based on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as 401k.
