The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. This is a great opportunity for anyone hoping to get experience with a diverse range of vineyards throughout the Central Coast sub-regions, and to work with premium winegrowers and multiple brands. The Harvest Sampler is responsible for regular visits to our contracted grower vineyards in the Central Coast region, assisting the Grower Relations team with vineyard scouting, grape maturity sampling and maintaining grower database updated. This position involves long drives and independent work. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.
This position will assist The Duckhorn Portfolio’s Central Coast Grower Relations team with grape scouting, evaluation, data entry and harvest sampling during the 2024 season.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Conduct field scouting for common vineyard pests, disease, and nutrient issues.
•  Assist the Grower Relations team with keeping the grower database up to date.
•  Monitor vineyard maturity, sugar sampling and processing.
•  Support the Vineyard Estate Team as needed.
•  Provide logistical support at harvest as needed.
•  Understand and follow all safety protocols as outlined in the company IIPP and as required but OSHA.

What you will need:
•  Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•  Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record – may require the use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
•  Agricultural or Wine Industry experience a plus.
•  Must be a self-starter with strong work ethic – this position involves working independently for extended periods of time with expectations to remain on task.
•  Good communication skills – verbal and written.
•  Must be able to work outside for extended lengths of time during period of extreme weather.
