POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Associate plays a key role in supporting all marketing efforts as well as contributing to the needs and success of our wholesale business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, thrives, working in a small team, has a roll-up your sleeves, can-do attitude, a keen eye for detail, and enjoys a dynamic, collaborative work environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Marketing

•  Works with the CMO to directly build, maintain and execute against monthly email campaigns and social media calendars inclusive of the development of all campaign
content such as copy, images, target segmentation, development, etc.
•  Reports against all campaigns and plays a significant role in communicating outcomes as well as is active in helping to develop strategy.
•  Creates brand aligned content inclusive of photos, digital images, videos, and other storytelling elements.
•  Listens and monitors all social media platforms to engage with followers/fans and respond quickly and accordingly.
•  Utilize paid and organic digital tools to increase SEO as well as execute against developed digital advertising goals.
•  Maintain, test, audit and update the company’s website and cart to ensure accuracy and optimization of the user experience.
•  Audits and ensures accuracy of links and information for all partnering or external websites.

Asset Management

•  Take the lead in managing the organization of all digital assets both within the company shared folders as well as on the website and any other applicable digital platforms.
•  Assist with seasonal photoshoots as needed.
•  Update and edit DTC and wholesale tools as directed by the CMO. Items to include DTC menus, order forms, communication pieces, fact sheets, sell sheets, shelf talkers,
etc.
•  Assist, as needed, with the creation and deployment of any internal or external PowerPoint presentations.

Wholesale Support

•  Plays a key role in developing regular social media posts, videos, and other storytelling content for the sales team to share and distribute.
•  Work alongside the Sales Operation Manager to ensure all needed marketing materials and samples needed for any onsite or offsite event are prepared, consolidated, and
shipped out per communicated deadlines.
•  Assist the Tasting Room Manager with the scheduling and hosting of trade visits as needed.

Other Responsibilities

•  Coordinate press/media samples, critic submissions and donations at the request of the CMO.
•  As needed, appropriately represent the winery at consumer, trade, and industry events, both onsite and off.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

•  Minimum 3 years related marketing experience – BA/BS degree preferred.
•  Solid knowledge of the wine industry – experience working with wholesale as well as DTC teams is a plus.
•  A proven project manager with an ability to prioritize and self-manage.
•  Team player with an ability to connect and work across departments.
•  Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an attention to detail and accuracy.
•  Excellent organizational skills and follow-up.
•  Proficient within Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
•  Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress & Mailchimp.
•  Foundational knowledge of SEO, paid digital advertising, and video production.
•  Ability to overcome obstacles and deliver, regardless of the obstacles.
•  Working knowledge of Wine Direct preferred.
•  Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
•  Must be at least 21 years old.
•  Occasional evening or weekend work, as well as business travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position. The ability to always work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, the ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to regularly lift and carry items up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee works in an office environment.
