VINEYARD/CELLAR WORKER
Kuhlman Cellars is a boutique winery in the heart of the Texas Hill Country dedicated to creating high quality wines with unwavering balance and complexity. Our Estate Vines produce award-winning wines, and we are looking for a team member to support us with the wine growing as well as the wine making.
Job Description
We are seeking a new team member on our production team. This person will focus on the management and health of the vineyard and estate grounds. This person will also assist in the Cellar when needed.
Essential Duties:
Vineyard
•  Execute pruning, training, and canopy management
•  Manage vineyard floor and Estate grounds
•  Assist with irrigation maintenance as well as application and removal of bird netting
•  Be present for Estate Harvests
•  Follow and observe all safe vineyard procedures
Cellar
•  Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment and winery
•  Racking and pumping of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment
•  Filling, topping, and racking barrels; barrel sanitation including steaming
•  Obtaining lab samples
•  Operating crusher, press, filter, and other winery equipment
•  Make additions including SO2, nutrients, and inoculations
•  Follow and observe all safe cellar practices
Job Qualifications
•  Must be legally able to work in the United States
•  Ability to lift 50 pounds
•  Ability to stand, climb, and withstand physically challenging work for extended periods
•  Forklift certification encouraged, but not required.
•  Be “hands on” and have a positive can-do attitude; will be a team player
•  Prior experience and wine knowledge is appreciated but not required.
•  Communicating effectively with good skills in reading, writing, and basic math.
•  Degree in Viticulture/Enology is appreciated but not required
Part time position 20-30 hours per week, possibly more during harvest. Schedule will be unpredictable during harvest--expect long days, weekend, and late evening shifts.
