Hospitality and Sales Specialist

Karta Wines

Job Description:

The story of Karta Wines unfolds from the deep-rooted passion for wine shared by Peter and Darci Meyerhofer. Their affinity for wine has always been a social one, centered around the joy of sharing it with family and friends. The Meyerhofers established Karta Wines with their inaugural vintage of Pinot Noir in 2018; Karta wines are meticulously crafted by Paden West and recent vintages have received high praise and great scores from Wine Enthusiast. This spring, Karta will be opening a new tasting room in downtown Sherwood, where our goal is to create an unforgettable wine tasting experience for our guests through welcoming hospitality and exceptional customer service.

We are pleased to announce an exciting part-time position for the right candidate to join our Tasting Room Hospitality team as we launch our new tasting room. At launch, this position will work 3-4 days per week, with expanded hours as the season progresses.

Ideal candidates will be charismatic and outgoing team players, goal-oriented, with a strong desire to sell wine and wine club memberships. Previous winery or tasting room experience is a plus but not a requirement for the right candidate.

Key duties include:
•  Effectively and professionally sell wine and wine club memberships to our guests
•  Provide an extraordinary experience for every guest
•  Assist with winery events
•  Opening and Closing duties

•  Possess and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
•  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
•  Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly
•  Must have or be able to obtain OLCC license and Food Handler’s Card
•  Required to work weekends and some holidays, and occasional evening hours outside of the regular schedule
•  Previous winery or tasting room experience is a plus but not required

We recognize the importance of our team! Our compensation package includes a competitive hourly wage, tips, wine club acquisition incentives, and employee wine discount.
