Job Description:

Jackson Family Wines is seeking a motivated full time Senior Tax Accountant to join our tax department. The ideal candidate will work closely with and report directly to the Tax Director. This role requires a strong background in tax accounting for corporations, pass-through entities, with some individual tax experience as well. The successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring tax compliance, planning, and policy maintenance in a fast-paced, team-structured environment.

Essential Functions/Duties:


•  Prepare the annual income tax provisions, including financial statement disclosures, corporate and flow-through income tax return compliance, quarterly estimates, multi-state compliance, and coordinate foreign filings in collaboration with external tax advisors.
•  Coordinate and gather information for all tax compliance and assist in preparing technical tax memos and position papers.
•  Support the company with tax research, recommendations, and assistance in tax controversies.
•  Assistance in maintaining tax fixed asset records with experience in Purchase Price Allocations and Cost Segregation analysis.
•  Assist with transfer pricing analysis and compliance.
•  Build strong working relationships with external advisors and collaborate with external accounting firms on recurring compliance and planning projects.
•  Stay updated on changes in tax law and issues that may impact the company/enterprise.

Job Requirements/Skills:


•  Three to four years of strong tax and accounting experience, (big 4 experience preferred).
•  CPA license not required but preferred.
•  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business, MS in Taxation a plus.
•  Strong understanding of tax laws, code sections, and GAAP.
•  Industry experience in wine and agribusiness is a benefit but not required.
•  Experience with Thomson Reuters' ONESOURCE Income Tax, Checkpoint, and BNA Fixed Assets preferred.
•  Advanced Excel proficiency - a high level of comfort with Lookups, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Data Integrity, and other advanced Excel functions.
•  ERP and database experience desired, JD Edwards a significant plus.
•  Alteryx and Power BI experience a plus.
•  Excellent communication, and organizational skills with ability to manage priorities and workflow.
•  Ability to work both independently and as a member of cross functional teams.

Wage transparency:

The base salary for this role ranges from $90,000 - $120,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
