Duckhorn Vineyards has an opening for a tasting room Retail Assistant to help our Wine Specialists and Management deliver an exceptional hospitality-focused guest experience. The Retail Assistant is an enthusiastic individual with an innate ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This detail-oriented role focuses on many behind–the–scenes tasks to prepare our tasting room for daily wine service operations. The position is varied, ranging from bussing tables, food prep, and general cleanliness, to utilizing customer service and hospitality skills.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Assist with the daily tasting room set-up being proficient in both opening and closing procedures.
•  Possess knowledge of food safety/handling and a willingness to learn.
•  Perform food preparation, including slicing, plating/presentation, and storage.
•  Bus tables and maintain general cleanliness of Visitor Center to include kitchens and indoor/outdoor tasting areas.
•  Assist with cleaning glassware, plates, etc.
•  Set up seated tastings, private and VIP tastings.
•  Maintain and organize “tax-paid” wine storage areas, communicating low inventory levels to management.
•  Unload and re-stock wine deliveries and recycle corrugated boxes and glass.
•  Restock non-wine inventory in the retail room with efficiency.
•  Assist Wine Specialists with packing wine sales and carrying wine to guest vehicles.

What you will need:
•  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
•  Strong communication skills.
•  Basic computer skills, including POS and reservation systems.
•  Ability to work weekends and select holidays.
•  Valid Driver's License and insurable MVR.
•  Ability to lift up to 42 lbs. repeatedly.
•  Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
