JOB SUMMARY
With a strong focus on providing outstanding customer service, the Tasting Room and Event Support Associate is an instrumental position for our On-Premise team with responsibility for both back-of-house daily tasks and front-of-house guest service support. This integral role requires frequent dialogue between team members and guests while maintaining an evolving list of priorities.

The Tasting Room and Event Support staff is the backbone of the Tasting Room, maintaining inventory par levels for wine, merchandise, glassware, dry goods and restocking when necessary all to ensure the Tasting Room runs smoothly and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Working overtime, when requested by your supervisor, is a condition of your employment.

•  Busses and sanitizes tables and service areas after guests’ departure
•  Provides events with support as needed to prepare and take down event table settings, etc.
•  Provides guests with water
•  Sets up and breaks down Private Tasting Experiences
•  Prepares and delivers cheese plates to Private Tastings
•  Maintains and sets up Tasting Room supplies, such as umbrellas and tables
•  Assists with movement and restocking of wine, bags, boxes, apparel, and books
•  Accurately inventories and maintains par levels for apparel, merchandise, dry goods, and printed materials
•  Escorts guests to tables
•  Lifts, pulls, and places glass racks
•  Completes side work such as preparing daily menus during down times
•  Assists glasswashers in washing and polishes glassware when necessary

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

•  Strong customer service skills
•  Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in order to implement a table and other event design requirements
•  Must be able to lift and set-up tables, chairs and event entertainment equipment
•  Ability to effectively communicate verbally with people of various backgrounds

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•  Experience: Hospitality service experience preferably for a large restaurant, winery or hotel
•  Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to regularly lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to communicate effectively and politely with the public and occasionally with dissatisfied customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is primarily a hospitality environment in which the employee may be interacting with the public. Events may be located indoors and/or outdoors and incumbent must be able to work in inclement weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work will require weekend and/or evening work.
