We have an exciting opportunity available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE) in Paterson, WA. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Food Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive food safety program. You will also have the opportunity to support the development and maintenance of validation protocols for environmental controls. This is a full-time hourly role that may require extended hours during peak seasons.

Food Safety Specialist job responsibilities include:

•  Support the development and implementation of a Food Safety, Food Defense, and Allergan management program.
•  Conduct training for associates and management related to Food Safety.
•  Provide support for root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans for sanitation, environmental, and food safety related concerns.
•  Prepare technical reports and recommendations based upon research outcomes.
•  Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP and Food Safety Programs.

Previous Experience to Include:

•  Laboratory experience with emphasis in Microbiology preferred.
•  2+ years of experience working in a quality related field in a food manufacturing environment.
•  Proficiency with MS Office Suite

Position Requirements:

•  Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology, Biology, or relevant scientific discipline.
•  HACCP and PCQI trained.
•  Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to lead a team.
•  Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds of weight with or without reasonable accommodation.
•  Perform work in sitting or standing position for extended periods of time.
•  21 years of age or older (working with alcohol)
•  History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation: $ 20.68 -$ 26.89/hr. based upon relevant experience.
