Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Associate Winemaker the Seghesio Harvest Lab Tech is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all wine laboratory analysis including use of technical lab equipment, quality control on the bottling line and analysis entry and tracking utilizing Microsoft Teams and Vintrace software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•  Performs, analyzes, and documents lab tests to ensure maximum wine quality.
•  Experience with specialized lab equipment such as Y15, Metler-Toledo Auto-Titrator, Anton Paar Alcolyzer, DMA and Wine Xray.
•  Samples barrel lots and tanks for analysis and sensory evaluation.
•  Analyze wines for bottling and perform regular QC checks of the bottling line.
•  Performs, analyzes, and documents vineyard maturity and fermentation progress at harvest.
•  Enters analysis in lab tracking document to assist in harvest winemaking decisions.
•  Provides support of harvest operations in the cellar where necessary that may include inoculations, additions, tank mixing, transfers, and fork-lift operations.
•  Assists with weighing grape trucks.
•  Willing to work extended hours as necessary during busy bottling and harvest season.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Viticulture & Enology or related scientific discipline preferred.
•  Minimum experience of two harvests in winery lab.
•  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
•  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•  Acute attention to detail.
•  Experience working with Vintrace software and proficiency with MS Windows, Teams, etc.
•  Experience in a laboratory environment familiarity with equipment, and safety procedures.
•  Spanish language skills a plus.

The projected pay range for this position is $19 to $24 per hour. This is the projected compensation for the position however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group reserves the right to modify the pay range/rate at any time in the future.
