Accounting Manager

Job Description:

Whitehall Lane Winery is an established family-owned and operated winery dedicated to creating quality wines in the heart of Napa Valley. We are seeking a full time Accounting Manager to perform a range of general accounting functions. Well-qualified candidates are energetic, detail-oriented, highly organized and enjoy working within a team.

This position will work closely with the owners and will be responsible for general ledger, inventory, AP, AR, payroll, financial analysis and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

•  Adhere to and manage all internal financial controls.
•  General ledger maintenance including general journals and balance sheet account reconciliations.
•  Monthly bank reconciliations.
•  Oversee and perform monthly cased goods, dry goods and bulk wine inventory reconciliations.
•  Inventory and accounting costing for wine products and bulk wine.
•  Cash forecasting.
•  Monthly, quarterly and year end reconciliations and schedules; submit to tax accountants.
•  Yearly processing of 1096/1099’s, unsecured business property statements, alcohol tax and other corporate filings.
•  Enter deposits and record customer payments.
•  California sales and excise tax calculations and submission.
•  Reporting and distributing sales and overall financial results to management; ability to manipulate large amounts of data required.
•  Review accounts receivable entries and monitor collections.
•  Monitor and execute harvest related duties including tracking weigh tags, grape payments and yearly grape crush report.
•  Reporting and distributing sales and overall financial results to management; ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
•  Process biweekly payroll.

Required Qualification/Skills:
•  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
•  At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting.
•  High level of discretion and ethics.
•  Experience with Quickbooks.
•  Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience.
•  Advanced Proficiency in Excel.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

Preferred Qualification/Skills:
•  Experience in the Wine Industry.
