Tasting Room Director

Job Description:

At Peju, our Tasting Room Director plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our winery visitors. You’ll embody our values (quality, an entrepreneurial mindset, openness, respect, and integrity) and lead by example, working closely with senior leaders to oversee the sales team, set revenue goals, and foster collaboration with other departments. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and reporting on key sales metrics. We seek a proactive, results-driven individual with a passion for exceptional hospitality and outstanding sales results. Additional duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Lead and develop a dynamic team, conduct hiring, mentor, and provide in-the-moment coaching.
•  Ensure Tasting Room staff embody brand values and deliver exceptional guest service.
•  Demonstrate top-tier guest service and sales behavior to set the standard.
•  Provide continuous wine education to employees and customers.
•  Drive profitability, manage costs, and seek revenue-boosting opportunities.
•  Monitor and communicate sales team performance, including goals, traffic, revenue, and more.
•  Manage discount policies, labor costs, inventory, and daily operations.
•  Lead weekly Tasting Room meetings and support the Assistant Manager.
•  Handle staff scheduling and maintain visual excellence standards.
•  Fulfill Manager of the Day (MOD) responsibilities for guest relations and opening/closing duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•  3 years as a winery Tasting Room Manager.
•  Minimum 5 years in revenue generation, sales, and customer engagement.
•  Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business Development preferred.
•  Strong leadership, employee engagement, and trust-building skills.
•  Deep knowledge of wine, food, and consumer insights.
•  Proficiency in staff management, budgeting, and creative program development.
•  Excellent decision-making and adaptability.
•  Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
•  Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
