ABOUT US: First planted in 1971 by four families working together, Hyland is one of Oregon's oldest, largest, and most incredible vineyards.
Hyland is just over 180 acres of volcanic Jory and Nekia soils in the McMinnville AVA. It is planted with 47-year-old, self-rooted Pommard, Wädenswil, and Coury Pinot Noir; together with the newer plantings of a number of Dijon clones provides unique blending options from this site.
Launched in 2011, Hyland Estates showcases highly regarded Pinot Noirs, as well as Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewürztraminer - the last two varietals being sourced from the oldest, self-rooted blocks in the vineyard. Laurent Montalieu and NW Wine Company are continuing the tradition of beautiful, high-scoring wines with their own unique sense of place.
Rooted in an established tasting room in Dundee, with a private tasting room and outdoor picnic areas, Hyland Estates welcomes guests every day of the week from l0:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
We are a family winery, committed to making the very best wines from our historic vineyard site. We are looking for a talented individual, with a great personality, who will join our all star team and lead hospitality.

SUMMARY:

Primary focus is direct-to-consumer sales in the tasting room. Associate will engage with customers to promote the brand and build sales through top class service and relaying the Hyland story. Secondary focus in assisting with planning and execution of Wine Club & DTC sales events.

1. Greet and guide customers through wine flights and tours in and entertaining and educational manner with the aim of promoting sales and wine club memberships.
2. Wash and polish glasses and any other dishes during the shift. Generally maintain appearance of hospitality space.
3. Track and maintain inventory of wine and merchandise. Ensure bar and displays are sufficiently stocked. Conduct weekly audits confirming accurate counting of inventory.
4. Conduct sales through POS and Ecommerce software. Daily reconciliation and reporting of sales.
5. Manage events calendar & ticket sales through Tock
6. Promote targeted sales through customer interaction and interpretation of purchasing data.
7. Manage Events both on & offsite:
8. Coordinate with catering, entertainment, vendors, host venues.
9. Generate ideas for new wine club events
10. Schedule Dinners and Private rentals
11. Submit ideas for special events for club members.
12. Acquire equipment & rentals as needed.
13. Review POS materials, restock as needed, and determine need for material.
14. Co-Create new materials and marketing pieces
15. Tasting notes and factsheets
16. Periodically representing Hyland at off-site tasting events in Portland and throughout the Willamette Valley.


Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and sales ability.
- Ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with new people.
- Able to entertain/educate guests while maintaining a focus on sales.
- Comfortable working on computers and tablets.
- Must be available to work weekends and some holidays;
- Must be able to work as part of a team and convey enthusiasm about the product.
- Backgrounds in wine and/or sales are preferred, but the right candidate can be trained.
- Self-motivated, organized, with attention to detail

•  Requires the ability to communicate with employees and customers by phone, computer, and in person.
•  Ability to lift up to 56 lb.
