POSITION SUMMARY
Kunde Family Winery produces world-class wines from the 1,850 acre estate vineyards in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. For over a century, five generations of the Kunde Family have farmed the estate, and to this day, it is still family owned and operated.
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals with a passion for wine-making to join our cellar team. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with all aspects of winemaking from grape to bottle. With over 15 varieties being produced, the right candidate will be exposed to all facets of winemaking.
PAY RATE
$19-$23/ hr based on experience
BONUS
$500 Harvest Completion Bonus based on harvest completion and performance.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Duties and responsibilities:
Read and execute work orders relating to wine production and bottling in a correct and timely manner. Preparing, filling, racking, and maintaining barrels.
All aspects of sanitation including cleaning tanks, barrels, equipment and cave floors.
General winery maintenance.
Blending wine.
Moving hoses and equipment.
Sampling for lab analysis, topping and sulfuring barrels.
Following and observing safe cellar practices.
Forklift operations in the winery, bottling room and caves.
Other duties as assigned by the Cellar Master.
Duties and responsibilities during harvest:
Receiving and weighing grapes.
Operating all crush equipment.
Press operations.
Pump overs and punch downs.
Yeast inoculations and ni1trient additions. /Preparing and filling barrels.
Forklift operations in the winery and caves.
Following and observing safe cellar practices.
Long hours and weekends.
Working as a member of the team and other duties as assigned by winemaking staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma.
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to walk, stand, climb and bend repeatedly as job requires Two years of cellar experience.

Bilingual in Spanish and English, a pluS
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, while being prudent to clean everything meticulously. Candidates must be able to lift heavy objects (SO+ lbs), stand, crawl, kneel, and climb for many hours. We are looking for a team player who will maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations, who works hard and is self-motivated, and is a lover of all things wine.
