POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees and strategically directs all warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment and material handling to support bottling production.

Pay rate: $78K - $93K Salary BOE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Takes a data-driven and results oriented approach to support successful execution of the company’s strategic objectives. Maximizes warehouse space utilization and efficiency.
Set and ensure that performance goals are achieved through the execution of performance metrics as it relates to safety, quality, efficiency, customer service and inventory management.
Identifies and examines opportunities for improvement. Ensure productivity, safety, and quality goals are achieved through continuous process improvement.
Establish departmental policies for all shipping, receiving, fulfillment, material handling and recycling activities. Generate and manage all departmental documentation including forms and work instructions.
Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
Effectively develop and maintain training plans/goals to enhance performance and achieve individual as well as company goals. Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure all training is complete.
Acts as primary liaison between VWE and VWE’s largest customer, Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits (DFWS), for all warehouse and shipping activities. Delivers superior customer service while achieving common goals.
Generate and provide timely and accurate reports as requested or required by DFWS.
Forecasts and allocates outbound transportation with preferred carriers.
Plans and organizes warehouse space and inventory locations to allow for efficient finished goods storage. Maintains inventory using FIFO methods where applicable.
Oversees all shipping and receiving of cased goods. Oversees all aspects of the fulfillment process for DFWS product, shipping domestically, directly from Ray’s. Ensures Ray’s has proper inventory on hand for all orders, transfers product from offsite storage as needed.
Monitors DataDocks to ensure carrier coverage and efficiency. Ensures VWE incurs no wait/standby charges due to poor scheduling or carriers arriving out of the appointment windows.
Coordinates and facilitates inventories and daily cycle counts for Ray’s Station with material handling, receiving and warehouse leads.
Works with Warehouse Supervisor & Leads to conduct cycle counts and adjust inventory as needed.
Works with Finance Department to schedule and conduct year-end inventory of all finished goods and materials.
Working with Environmental Health and Safety Manager ensures that Departmental processes meet or exceed Cal OSHA requirements, including safety training, forklift certifications and inspections.
Works with Warehouse Supervisor, Facility/Maintenance, and outside suppliers to ensure proper maintenance and service for warehouse equipment utilizing Dude Solutions maintenance software where applicable.
Completes all other work or tasks as assigned by Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of applicable supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing priorities
Experience with ERP and WMS software, preferably NAV
ISO 9001 experience preferred
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a dynamic & changing fast-paced environment
Must be a self-starter with ability to complete activities with minimal direction
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision in a timely manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional “can do” attitude and a strong work ethic
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Advanced English language skills including ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with internal / external customers and vendors. Advanced communication and exceptional customer service skills a must.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Demonstrate strong math skills.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid CDL is a requirement for this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
