Site Security Supervisor

Work Location : Delicato Vineyards Manteca

Position Purpose

Under little or no supervision, the Site Security Supervisor is responsible for all security, driving safety and access control activities on site including overseeing guards, setting post orders, and working with site stakeholders to ensure that security protocols meet the needs of the business. The role will also be responsible for supervising operations at the grape test stand during the harvest period.

Functional Responsibility

•  Supervises the day-to-day operations and assigned staff in accordance with management's direction
•  Leads in a constructive manner by example; demonstrates and encourages a strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
•  Guides team in the proper use of assets and resources to avoid waste and ensure cost-effective operations
•  Monitors performance and regularly communicates with team to achieve mutual understanding, maintain level of productivity, and deliver desired results
•  Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs
•  Ensures employees have a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment, provides applicable safety training and resolves/reports safety issues to management
•  Supports change initiatives and company decisions in an effective manner
•  Immediately informs management and addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
•  Ensures employees are trained on the policies, processes, and procedures related to functional area; maintains company and regulatory compliance during day-day-operations
•  Adheres to departmental GPS (Performance Management) guidelines and ensures proper GPS documentation; trains employees to do the job; identifies and makes suggestions for training needs and development opportunities

Essential Duties

•  Hires, trains, and coaches security guards to ensure familiarity with company policies, procedures and protocols for identifying suspicious activity, and responding to emergencies such as fires or bomb threats
•  Builds and documents standard operating procedures for security patrols and visitor receiving protocols
•  Conducts security inspections of company assets such as buildings, vehicles, or equipment
•  Acts as a liaison between the company and local law enforcement agencies in cases of crime on company property or those involving company employees
•  Coordinates security measures with other departments within the company such as human resources or information technology to ensure compatible with existing security protocols
•  Coordinates security measures with external parties such as contractors, security companies, and government agencies
•  Ensures security systems such as cameras or alarm systems are working properly
•  Handles emergency situations such as fires, medical emergencies, or violent incidents by contacting emergency responders such as police or fire departments
•  Works with Maintenance on repairs to damaged infrastructure
•  Directly supports and supervises the work of security guards and the grape receiving operations
•  Monitors and ensures safe driving of vehicles on site
•  Conducts incident investigations in the event of accidents or other incidents on site
•  Delivers and maintains all safety related policies as requested
•  Conducts and directs regular patrol of company facilities at specified times to ensure security and safety measures are being followed
•  Provides support as needed to security needs at other sites

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

•  High School Diploma
•  3-5 years of security experience
•  2+ years of direct supervisory or leadership experience

Certificates and Licenses

•  Valid driver's license
•  BSIS Guard Card

•  Must possess strong mentoring skills
•  Demonstrated teaching/training ability
•  Professional work ethic, strong accountability
•  Positive, professional, and mature demeanor

Working Conditions

•  General Winery environment
•  Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
•  Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
•  Exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes
•  Extended Hours
•  Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
•  Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment
•  Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $22.67 to $35.49.

Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
