Job purpose
Under direction of the Maintenance Manager to be responsible for the general maintenance and/or repair of all buildings, equipment, etc. associated with the winery
Duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties:
•  Performs skilled level repairs and modifications on buildings and grounds performing tasks such as, but not limited to:
a) Troubleshoot and repair equipment (belts, chains, sprockets, pullies, gear boxes, pumps and motors).
b) Welding (TIG, MIG, Stick, plasma cutter) Sanitary Welding experience a plus
c) Electrical (base troubleshooting and use of a multimeter)
d) Performs routine and non-routine building maintenance service calls: conducts repairs, adjustments or replacements throughout the winery.
e) Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
f) Fabrication (custom parts, frame design, safety items)
g) Ability to complete work orders and all associated paperwork on time and in full; utilizing a CMMS.
h) May include offsite maintenance of properties & equipment
i) Must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
j) Appropriately seeks advice when additional expertise or authority is needed.
•  Fabricate moderately complex systems including, but not limited to: piping systems, small electrical panels, control systems, or equipment to support production needs.
•  Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions as instructed.
•  Under minimal supervision – Troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, repair, or replace assigned component of electrical refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling system, structural, lighting, furnishings, and fixtures.
•  Review service requests for repairs and maintenance; determine nature of problem and recommend appropriate solution for winery facilities.

Other Duties:
•  Maintain clean and orderly work areas free of hazards
•  Assist in other grounds, landscaping, or maintenance activities as needed
•  Drive company vehicle to pick-up and deliver parts and/or supplies
•  Drive forklift to move supplies and equipment
•  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED; an AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
Experience: 5 years required in General Maintenance (3 years winery experience)
•  Ability to fabricate moderately complex systems
•  Ability to read and interpret documents, policies, technical manuals, blue prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and more
•  Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
•  Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, water systems; including pumps, plumbing, filters, sanitation, well and irrigation equipment, as well as safety procedures and protocol
•  Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull heavy objects, repeatedly.
•  Must be able to safely perform Lockout/Tag out
•  Must have knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
•  Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
•  Must have strong organizational , problem-solving, and analytical skills
•  Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

Working conditions
This job requires some weekend work, some night shifts (CRUSH), Overtime hours, and may be called in for emergencies when required. At times may be working in areas with unpleasant odors, excessive noise, excessive cold or heat, dust, solvents and petroleum products.
Physical requirements
At times this job frequently requires standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, walking on uneven and slippery floors, working at heights for extended periods of time. May be in awkward position; reaching forward, overhead, neck flexion/extension, grasping/handling objects. Climbing stairs or ladder carrying objects. Carrying, pushing, pulling objects 25- 100 pounds.
