As Director of Corporate Safety & Health, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Safety programs for Gallo. You will have the opportunity to leverage your strategic leadership skills to advance the Safety performance of the organization, as well as represent Gallo in all regulatory development and compliance engagement activities with third parties. You will be expected to be the subject matter expert on CA OSHA as well as Federal OSHA regulations and leverage that expertise to develop corporate and site-specific, Health and Safety staff.
What You Will Do
Provides organizational leadership and accountability on all aspects of Safety and Health regulatory compliance.
Acts as the thought leader on programs and processes to ensure company remains compliant on all Health and Safety based regulations.
Responsible for enterprise-wide occupational safety and health performance and ensures organizational performance of Safety and Health is in the top tier 25% or better of all CPG companies.
Interprets legislation/regulations and develops strategies for ensuring organizational compliance.
Provides strategic planning to anticipate changes in regulations or organizational performance that are rarely in direct control.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in an Occupational Safety and Health, EHS technical field of study or related field of study plus 10 years of experience in EHS fields reflecting increasing levels of responsibility with a minimum of 3 years supervisory.
CSP, CIH, MPH and/or other professional safety certifications from an accredited certifying body
Ability to lead initiatives across business units and flex ideas/concepts appropriately depending on business needs.
Ability to work with and influence a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds and expertise across key functional areas.
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
Master's degree in an EHS technical field of study or related field of study plus 12 years of experience in EHS fields reflecting increasing levels of responsibility with a minimum of 5 years supervisory.
Strong team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
Experience influencing across large organizations at the senior management level and team level.
Skilled in developing relationships quickly to achieve organizational goals.
Experience with effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
Experience working with all levels and functions within a complex manufacturing Company.
Strong analytical, problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Experience with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Experience with responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Experience with writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Compensation
Hiring Salary Range Posted: $174,450 - $290,750
Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
