POSITION SUMMARY

Chappellet Winery and Vineyard is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the accounting operations of the company and will aid in the preparation of accounting and financial data. Responsibilities include month end close, AR, AP, Payroll, Benefits, Reconciliations and Reporting.

POSITION SUMMARY
Chappellet Winery and Vineyard is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the accounting operations of the company and will aid in the preparation of accounting and financial data. Responsibilities include month end close, AR, AP, Payroll, Benefits, Reconciliations and Reporting.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and will be part of Chappellet’s accounting/admin department.

RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY
•  In conjunction with Controller, manage month-end and year-end close processes
•  Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries including prepaids, accruals, and reversing entries
•  Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled
•  Ensure payroll and benefits are processed in a timely manner
•  Process weekly check run in conjunction with Accounting and Systems Analyst
•  Issue invoices and ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
•  Assist with monthly inventory counts and weekly reporting
•  Assist with fixed asset reconciliations
•  Assist with year-end CPA financial review
•  Assist with managing outsourced functions, including IT and compliance
•  Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
•  Additional projects as directed by the CFO or Controller
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
•  Effective verbal and written communication skills

•  Strong attention to detail
•  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
•  Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and
Teams
•  Ability to work well with all levels and departments within the company
•  Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with
enthusiasm
QUALIFICATIONS
•  Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance are preferred
•  Experience: 3+ years of progressive responsibility in accounting and finance
•  Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
•  Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
•  Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
•  Experience with Navision accounting system, Jet Reports, and Commerce7 a plus
WORK LOCATION/LOGISTICS
The Accounting office is located on the Chappellet property in St. Helena. The position requires collaborative work onsite in the Accounting team’s open office environment 2-3 days a week with flexibility to work remotely the other days. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, the ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time, salaried position. The annual salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 (dependent upon experience) + bonus potential based on individual goals achieved. Additional benefits offered include health insurance, paid vacation, and employer matching 401(K).
