Job Description:

A seasonal Harvest Enology Technician job in Paterson, Washington is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This is a full-time seasonal position at SMWE Canoe Ridge Estate Winery in Paterson. Under supervision of our winemaking team, you will perform varied tasks in the production of wine. The work is primarily focused on tasks involving winemaking, computer work and paperwork. There are three positions open. One starts in April 2023, and the other two positions start in August 2023 through November 2023 (depending on harvest).

Harvest Enology Technician job responsibilities include:

•  Create and issue routine work orders.
•  Maintain and update Logix tank controls.
•  Create, maintain, and update various tracking spreadsheets.
•  Set up and orchestrate bench top experiments.
•  Interact daily with cellar crew to facilitate cellar work.
•  Coordinate with lab to obtain required wine analysis at various processing stages.
•  Manage and execute special projects to improve quality and style of CSM red wines.
•  Participate in blending and tasting with winemaking team.
•  Participate in vineyard visits with winemaking team.
•  Participate in tank tasting rounds to assist with record keeping and decision-making.
•  Make independent winemaking decisions after training.
•  Maintain and organize wine library.

Position Requirements:

•  Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
•  Previous winery harvest work experience.
•  Ability to read, write, speak, understand English and follow work instructions.
•  Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
•  Able to work extended hours multiple days a week.
•  History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation:

$20.68 - 26.89/hr. based on upon relevant experience.
