Job Description:

FEL produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris from Anderson Valley vineyards, including from our estate, Savoy Vineyard. Harvest at FEL involves all aspects of making the FEL Wines, as well as wine for several custom crush clients producing a number of other varieties from across North Bay AVAs.

Interns will participate in all aspects of harvest cellar work, including but not limited to processing fruit, pressing and barrel work, ferment management through punchdowns, pumpovers, additions and inoculations, and tank and barrel work. There will be no shortage of cleaning. We expect our interns to be motivated, efficient, and operate with safety in mind at all time. We are looking for applicants who bring a positive attitude and team-oriented spirit to the job. We also expect our interns to appreciate that this is a physical job in an often demanding work environment.

A harvest internship at FEL is an excellent way to gain exposure to a range of winemaking styles, growing regions, and production scales. It also offers interns direct access to the winemaking team on a daily basis and provides a great balance between a small winery/small team feeling and the dynamic operations and logistics of a larger facility.

Cellar experience is always appreciated but not required and is no substitute for a commitment to working hard, learning about wine, and contributing quality work to the team effort. We also value a sense of humor and general appreciation for good music, food, and coffee, all of which feature in harvest at FEL Wines.

Please send a CV and a cover letter detailing both your experience and your goals in wine production.
