Brooks Note Winery is seeking two interns to assist with the full spectrum of winemaking tasks. Interns will work directly with winemaker and assistant winemaker in our downtown Petaluma facility. This is a great opportunity to learn about boutique wine production. We expect the position to run from mid-August to sometime in October. Applicants with harvest experience are preferred, but a great attitude and strong work ethic are musts.
We produce primarily Pinot Noir, but also work with Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Riesling. We also work with additional varieties for our clients including Fiano, Greco di Tufo, Teroldego, Barbera, Primitivo, Zinfandel, and Merlot.
The work period will run from approximately the second week of August to late October.
Duties will include
Winery sanitation
Fruit processing
Daily fermentation monitoring
Cap management
Additions/inoculations
Pressing
Barrel work
Possibly some lab duties
Data Entry
Qualifications
Must have legal right to work in the United States
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to work in hot, cold, and damp conditions
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
