CHATEAU MORRISETTE: VIRGINIA'S OLDEST AND LARGEST WINERY 50,000-60,000 CASES ANNUALLY:
We are searching for someone who loves the wine business as much as we do.. The ideal person must know how to think strategically, understands the importance of working hard with a clear directive. Candidates will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with the owner, overseeing all aspects of the wholesale operations and most importantly being the Brand ambassador for Chateau Morrisette to the trade and retail scenarios.
Chateau Morrisette is very respected and well known throughout the southeast. We take pride being continuously recognized as a "trend setter" in quality, packaging, new wine and cider concepts. We are currently investigating distilled spirits, initially a small capacity, for sale at winery only (for now) to build demand and hype.
Chateau Morrisette is looking for persons who desire a long term commitment and also appreciate the positive dynamics of a family owned and operated company.
POSITION ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Director of Winery Business Development and Wholesale Operations identifies and implements opportunities to build the business. Manages and oversees all wholesale operations.
Expansion of our brand into new states is a very important part of our marketing strategy. Our immediate plans are expansion into South Carolina and Florida.Experience in brand expansion is a plus. Exporting through Western Europe and China are being developed as well.
Our employees are our greatest asset. Candidate will enhance the development and appreciation of our employees. Assist with management our practice of building and training a cross-functional wholesale team, nourishing sustainability and long-term growth.

Development of business growth, enhancing and complimenting the brand and family of wines. Provide extensive customer service for wholesale and retail customers of all sizes including chains and “mom and pops”. Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that will lead to an increased generation of market share.
Track emerging markets and trends. Research and identify new market opportunities.
Help to shape the company’s long-term strategic objectives and prepare a plan for how to meet them.
Travel to include vendor locations, distribution centers, events, and other locations.
MANAGEMENT OF WHOLESALE TEAM
Lead our wholesale team in sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationships.Train and support the wholesale team in building relationships with customers and distributors to enhance and compliment our brand and family of wines.
Nurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts to craft and implement creative and logistical aspects of staying current, often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, production trends, proactively identifying and solving operational challenges
Ensure our wholesale team projects our reputation of honesty, integrity, and pursuit of excellence in all we do.
Set goals, achievement of case goals and distribution goals for the Wholesale Representatives.
Follow up and visit our distributors, vendors, and potential new customers in the marketplace.
Staying ahead of competition and potentially competitive products. Evaluate new products, new trends and enhancement of selling skills.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Review and verify the accuracy of the Wholesale Representative’s weekly sales reports.
Complete weekly and monthly sales reports; weekly and monthly activities report for the President.
Preparing periodic sales reports showing sales volumes, comparisons, and potential sales in both
Work with our distributors and chains; including new business. Summary Reports Quarterly recap for each distributor: Detailing Weak and Strong Points.
Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules and discount rates and developing sales campaigns. Assisting in an annual target budget plan process and regularly monitoring expenditure
