Market Manager - Broad Market

Job Description:


Isla de Califa Distillery is vastly expanding our distribution reach in 2023! This is a new extension within Copper Cane Wines and Provisions.

The Distillery Market Manager position will ensure we have a strong presence in the Southern California market and will work closely with our distillery to spread our story throughout the territories. They will also be responsible for establishing and ensuring delivery of the annual business plan within the assigned region.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
•  Work closely/collaborate with our distillery team
•  Command a deep understanding of the market dynamics in the territory you manage.
•  Evaluate emerging customers, identify accounts Isla de Califa must “win” in and allocate resources effectively.
•  Establish and implement strategic programs to guide distribution, innovative launches, displays, feature ads, and retail promotions that produce effective presentation of brand
•  Manage distributor relationships, goals, programming, and sales strategy
•  Key Account Visits with a primary focus on on-premise and off-premise accounts
•  Support the market with retail tastings/Zoom tastings, events, programs, activations,
•  On/off-premise staff trainings/education
•  Responsibly and professionally represent the Isla de Califa brand in the market
•  Distributor General Sales Meetings (GSM) tastings/meetings
•  Development and implementation of cocktail menus, barrel-aged cocktails, cocktail specials, and menu placements
•  Consumer/trade events
•  Daily/weekly meetings with Sales Team
•  Other duties as assigned

•  Ability to provide strong time, planning & organizational management skills
•  Team player, able to multitask and juggle priorities
•  Strong communication skills

•  Bachelor’s degree preferred
•  Knowledge of general spirits industry products/production as would normally be acquired through years of trades training and/or experience is preferred
•  Spirits/alcohol beverage industry knowledge/experience
•  A valid driver's license
•  Ability and willingness to work and travel non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
•  Ability to perform light physical work; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
•  Ability to move products, hang point of sale materials and fulfil other physical requirements including repetitive lifting, bending, and pulling/pushing
•  Conducts work in a sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting
