Our offices are based in NYC, but we are open to an ideal candidate working on-site, hybrid, or fully remote. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of NY employment law and be able to work 6 or more hours daily during our NYC office hours of 9am to 6pm, EST.

Reporting to the President, our Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, direction, and coordination of all HR activities related to Employee Relations, EEO and Compliance, Compensation, Employment, Training, Benefits, Safety and Worker’s Compensation. Our ideal candidate must be capable of maintaining and enhancing the employee experience for all Banville employees to support the culture and values of the company. This position will creatively and innovatively help provide each of our employees with a work environments that stimulates exceptional performance.

Critical Tasks:
Employment (30%)
Oversee and coordinate programs to recruit and select ideal candidates into Banville.
Manage onboarding and orientation practices which provide tools and training required for new hires to quickly become acclimated to Banville.
Administer compensation and recognition & rewards programs at Banville which recognize, reward, and motivate employees in a manner consistent with our philosophies and values.
Develop a comprehensive approach to identifying and evaluating best practices.
Administer Banville’s performance management program, driving high levels of performance and creating an atmosphere where professionally honest feedback is welcome and shared.
Provide program oversight and coordination for programs to support education and training for all employees at Banville.
Create and deliver employee programs and events that build stronger teams and a collaborative culture.
Monitor industry and market competitive factors to ensure Banville’s compensation and rewards programs remain competitive.
Manage Banville’s benefits programs, providing the best possible benefits we can afford to our employees and their families, selecting and managing benefits providers and managing the budget. Assist employees with benefit selection and utilization.
Manage Banville’s worker's comp policies for each state.

Leadership (15%)
Provide key insights and recommendations to the President in all areas of Banville’s business operations and people strategies.
Develop a strong team of leaders, improving current performance and encouraging and allowing for growth, development and innovation.
Align everyone across the team with Banville’s mission and vision, as well as Banville’s Culture.
Cultivate cross department relationships to ensure cohesiveness, strong communication and alignment throughout the company allowing for exceptional business results.
Actively develop your own Leadership style, knowledge and skillset.
Present Human Resources metrics and key initiatives to President, as requested.

Employee Relations (15%)
Work with each member of the Leadership Team to proactively manage workplace performance and results.
Work with employees at all levels to help ensure each individual is able to work in an environment that stimulates exceptional behavior and results.
Identify opportunities and create solutions to enhance people and organizational effectiveness.

Compliance (10%)
Identify and ensure legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function (OSHA, EEO, Wage & Hour, etc.) are managed to minimize exposure.
Regularly review and update Banville’s Employee Handbook to ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws.
Ensure all Human Resources recordkeeping is compliant with state and federal laws.
Manage Banville’s Safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all Employees, and all State, Federal and OSHA laws are adhered to.

Professional Requirements:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus an HR certification and 5+ years of HR generalist experience.

Skills: Proven experience and abilities in a customer focused front line HR role, able to negotiate conflict and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels. Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a supportive team player. Ability to focus on multiple tasks and deadlines, and effectively prioritize and manage them. Outstanding leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to bring out the best in those who work with you. Attention to detail. Must be a driven, creative, resourceful thinker who can build a culture and programs to support organizational goals. Proven ability to negotiate and manage benefit programs and manage large budgets.

Knowledge: Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as experience with HRIS software. Excellent knowledge of state and federal labor law as well as wage & hour. Thorough understanding of business flow and processes. Must have knowledge of NY employment law.

Physical: Ability to sit at a computer 6+ hours a day, stand for periods of up to 3 hours in a day. Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evening or weekend events as well as travel, domestic and international on occasion.
